·       Provide routine nonclinical support such as stocking exam areas, organizing equipment, preparing supplies, and supporting documentation.

·       Observe and report relevant animal health or medication-administration concerns encountered during assigned duties; assist with medication distribution only when trained and authorized.

·       Assist with additional clinical or animal-care activities only after task-specific training, competency assessment, and authorization, consistent with applicable law and organizational policy.

·       Participate in team training, safety procedures, and cross-departmental coordination; perform other related duties within the position’s training and scope.

·       Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and recognize when to seek clarification or escalate concerns.

·       Interest in animal welfare and ability to work safely in a sanctuary environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
·       Experience in veterinary medicine, animal care, pharmacy support, medication inventory, healthcare, laboratory operations, or comparable detail-oriented work.

·       Veterinary assistant or technician training; experience with nonhuman primates or other exotic animals.

·       Experience with inventory software, medical records, medication labeling, or pharmacy workflows.

Supervision and Scope
Reports to the Director of Veterinary Care or designee and works under the direction of designated veterinary personnel. Does not independently diagnose, prescribe, alter treatment orders, perform restricted veterinary technical procedures, or make clinical decisions. All medication handling and animal-contact duties are subject to training, verification, authorization, and applicable requirements.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
